Full day excursion to Valparaiso and Viña del Mar
Today you may participate in a full-day tour to the cities of Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. Departing from Santiago, on paved all weather roads heading west bound where you’ll be driven westwards through some of Chile’s famous wine valleys. One of the valleys is Casablanca where the families have specialized in cultivating a few small but delicate wine businesses. They set a great store warehouse to produce organically without adding any artificial substances.
Arriving in Valparaiso, you’ll pass by the main square where you can view an honored monument of the Naval Battle fought in 1879. The impressive number of streets, narrow passages, steps, attractive places and elevators built more than 100 years ago captivates the visitor. Then driving towards the southern side of the city, you can ride the old funiculars carts, which transport inhabitants up and down the hill for the most spectacular view of the bay sightseeing Valparaiso’s downtown district and its adjoining hills. Then proceed to the lower level of the city through the commercial heart of the port where you’ll take the coastal highway that links Valparaiso with the resort city of Viña del Mar.
Afterwards, you’ll be driven to the famous beaches of Salinas, Reñaca, Los Lilenes and Concón to have the opportunity to see Viña’s flower clock and the gambling Casino along with passing rough scenery of rocks where the sea on windy days and high tides crashes fiercely against the coast. Reaching the Concón beach, you can also admire various fish stands displaying a great variety of seafood and sightsee the summer homes, restaurant and condos spread out along the coast. Afterwards, return to Viña del Mar by the residential district to visit the main square Rioja Palace, Plaza Vergara and the shopping avenue before returning to Santiago. Or transfer to Hotel in Viña del Mar/Valparaiso.
